What are Vietnam’s entry requirements?

Testing and screening procedures

Effective 15 May 2022, travellers to Vietnam are NO longer required to present a negative COVID-19 test prior to their entry into Vietnam. However, the authorities have urged travellers that in case they show symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, loss of taste, loss of smell, headache, diarrhoea, breathing difficulty) they must notify the health agency at the border gates.

All travelers are required to undergo health screening at the international airport of entry, and:

  • Proceed through the temperature checkpoint.
  • Install the IGOVN (Android, Apple) and PC-COVID (Android, Apple) applications.
  • Use the above Applications during their stay in Vietnam.
  • Carry out immigration procedures at the international airport as per regulations.
  • Prepare their required documents carefully.

Quarantine procedure

Vietnam has scrapped its quarantine requirements for all arrivals in the country.

However, according to the Vietnam tourism of Health, within ten (10) days from the date of entry, travellers are required to self-monitor their health. In case, they have symptoms of Covid-19 including fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, stuffy nose, body aches, fatigue, chills, decreased or lost taste, decreased or lost Vietnam culture Vietnam lifestyle of smell, pain, headache, diarrhoea, difficulty in breathing, respiratory inflammation, they must immediately notify the nearest medical facility for instructions.

Additional entry requirements

Upon arrival in Vietnam travellers are required to go through the following requirements:

  • Present proof of valid medical, or travel insurance covering Covid-19 treatment, with a minimum coverage of USD 10,000.
  • Download the PC-Covid mobile app (iOS, Android) which must be presented to enter all Vietnam establishments.
  • Travellers must diet for the testing, health burn fat , check-up, treatment expenses, and others (if any) by themselves.
